1. Overview: No Accounts, No Stored Reports

OpenBiz.co.nz (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a free business valuation and appraisal tool website. The Site requires no registration, has no user accounts, and the valuation or appraisal reports you generate are not stored on our servers — reports exist only in your current browser session, so print or download them before you leave the page. This policy complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

2. Information We Collect

  • Business data you submit: Revenue, profit, SDE and other financial and operating details you enter when using the valuation or appraisal tools. This data is used only to generate that one report — once sent to the AI and returned to you, it is not saved in any database.
  • Uploaded files: The valuation tool can extract data from an uploaded financial document (e.g. a P&L); the file is used only for that extraction and is not retained afterwards. The appraisal tool's photo upload happens entirely in your browser and is never uploaded to a server.
  • Usage data: Anonymous website analytics via Google Analytics (page views, approximate location, device type) used to understand traffic — not linked to your name or contact details.
  • Contact information: Only if you email us directly, in which case we receive whatever details you choose to share.

3. What We Don't Do

  • No registration or login required.
  • Your valuation/appraisal reports or financial data are not saved in our server database.
  • No login-session cookies that identify you personally.
  • We never sell, rent, or share your business data with third parties.

4. How We Use Your Information

Data you submit is used only to instantly generate the report you requested. Once generated, it is not further processed or retained by us.

5. Third-Party Services

  • AI providers (OpenRouter / Anthropic): The financial and business data you submit is sent to our AI provider to generate the report, subject to their respective privacy policies.
  • Google Analytics: For anonymous traffic statistics.
  • Vercel / Supabase: Hosting and infrastructure providers that run this Site and store public content such as blog posts (not your valuation data).

6. Cookie Policy

This Site uses only Google Analytics' anonymous statistics cookies — no login or personal-tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies via your browser settings at any time without affecting the core valuation/appraisal tools.

7. Your Rights

Because we don't store your personal data or reports, there is usually nothing on file for us to delete. If you believe we hold any information about you, or have questions about this policy, contact us at the email below, or lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

8. Children's Privacy

This Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

9. Third-Party Links

This Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
