How to Improve AI Visibility for a Local Business
AI visibility starts with the same question as local search: can a system confidently understand who you are, what you do and where you serve?
Make the core facts agree
Use the same real business name, phone, address or service area, hours, website and category on your website and major profiles. Add a clear service page for each important offering and location you genuinely serve.
Build evidence, not noise
Claim and complete your Google Business Profile. Keep relevant New Zealand directories current. Ask real customers for honest reviews and respond accurately. A smaller number of trustworthy sources is better than a large number of duplicate or artificial listings.
Publish answer-worthy content
Answer questions about price ranges, process, timing, eligibility, trade-offs and local conditions. Put the direct answer near the top, add supporting detail and show when the page was reviewed.
Test and repeat
Ask the same customer questions in the answer engines your audience uses. Record the date, exact prompt, whether you were mentioned or cited, whether the description was accurate and what competitors appeared. OpenBiz's GEO Check can provide a starting snapshot, not a guarantee.
