Google Business Profile and AI Search Visibility: What Owners Should Know
Your Google Business Profile is not a magic switch for ChatGPT or any other AI answer engine. It is, however, an important public source of business facts for local discovery and a place where customers judge whether you are current and credible.
Complete the profile properly
Use the accurate primary category, current hours, holiday hours, service area, phone, website, photos and service descriptions. Keep the profile aligned with the website. Do not add locations you do not genuinely serve.
Reviews are evidence of experience
Ask real customers for honest reviews after real work. Do not buy reviews, write them yourself or pressure customers to use specific phrases. Respond in a way that shows the business is active and accountable.
Understand the limit
Google's local guidance describes relevance, distance and prominence as major local factors. A complete profile can improve eligibility and understanding, but no one can pay for or demand an organic local ranking. Use the profile as one part of a wider GEO plan.
