Field notes
What Kind of Content Can AI Answer Engines Cite?
AI answer engines need content they can understand and use with confidence. That does not mean writing for a robot. It means making the useful answer clear for a person.
Put a direct answer first
Start with a plain definition or conclusion, then explain the context. A service page should quickly state who the service is for, where it is available, what is included, typical timing and the next step.
Add evidence and structure
Definitions, numbers, comparisons, procedures, examples and source links help readers assess a claim. Use headings that describe the question, short paragraphs, lists and tables where they genuinely improve understanding.
Show experience without exaggerating
Explain how the business works, what a customer should prepare and which trade-offs matter. Do not invent case studies, reviews, awards or statistics. Put important claims in visible text and keep structured data consistent with that text.
Keep pages useful over time
Add a review date, update prices and policies, remove outdated claims and link to the relevant valuation or GEO guide. Good content earns trust before it earns a citation.
